Just A Little Curious. || hinabae

It was a rather strange view; not long had it been since the two were side by side, dressed in their nation’s war uniforms and mentally preparing themselves for an upcoming battle—a battle that would surely decide the fat of not just their villages, but the world of shinobi’s, and all those that seemed to inhabit it. Though, what came from such conflict, same the inevitable consequences that would soon proceed. The emotional scars, the loss of their home, it was certainly a heavy burden to carry on such nimble shoulders.

Yet somehow, they did just that.

They succeeded, though at a hefty price. Amethyst tinted lids remained fixed along the pondering Kumo-nin, thoughts aimlessly journeying elsewhere, it seemed. Though this did not bother the heiress; no, she remained silent as the progression of her replies came forth, a sense of immediate relief waving over herself. What could have she been thinking about? As this was an ongoing question each time her fellow kunoichi seemed to pause momentarily, the lengthy huff of being unable to locate the Hokage’s Office came into play.

”O-Oh! Your looking for Tsunade-sama’s office?”

Fingers then rose to grip her own chin to mull over the situation, irises falling short of reaching the pavement below. After a brief look over and a twitch of her lips while thinking, a small thought came to mind, causing herself to snap back to face the fiery haired woman, “—Well, if you’d like .. I could guide you over toward the tower to meet with her,” she suggested softly, the corners of her mouth rising into a delicate smile. She was quite sure the boys would go on along and train without her, thus allowing more time for herself to help out one of her fellow division comrades.

“What do you think, Karui-san? Besides ..
it’s— .. been sometime since we last caught up, ne?”

“Yeah. I haven’t been here in ages.

I didn’t expect to remember where it was but

I also didn’t expect to get lost like a fucking idiot.”

While catching up on time spent apart from each other wasn’t exactly on her agenda of things to do she supposed it was okay. If this was the her from four years ago she may have denied the opportunity though curiosity poked its way from the deep trenches of her mind. She wondered how the Hyuuga woman had fared now in comparison to all those years ago. While the state of her village spoke volumes of just how well of they were she supposed it didn’t speak on a personal level. Outer appearances couldn’t always speak the truth on behalf of every human being.

                                                  “I guess it’s alright.”

Shoulders rolling in a shrug she allowed the violet to lead her, sandaled feet falling in time with the others steps. Where could she begin without divulging too much in the way of her own personal well being? Anything airing on the bright-and-happy side of things would be a lie meant to deflect her true feelings. While she was positive the pale eyed Hyuuga wasn’t capable of detecting a lie on her part, lying wasn’t something she did often or at least not recently. Sighing deeply she chose a different tactic hoping to place the focus entirely on her guide’s current state rather than her own. She feared that sharing her personal feelings at this moment in time would bring about unwanted emotions. Just a simple glance around the thriving village had spread salt on raw flesh. Stinging pain in the form of anguish had settled upon her form to the point of making her sick. So no, she wouldn’t dare share too much at least not yet.

“You better not be shrugging of duties just to help me.

I’m not some special case yah hear?”

Tone of voice morphed to scolding as a finger wagged in the young girls direction before falling away to join her arms in a stubborn fold. Chest huffing as the situation was guided in a more humorous direction. Even if the words spoken on behalf of the scarlet haired nin was meant to be regarded as serious; the way in which she conveyed them were a tad childish and amusing to any onlooker.
